Walter T. Lane 87 Roanoke died Friday at Randolph County Hospital. Funeral was to 
be 3 pm (CST) today at Roanoke United Methodist Church with burial in the Roanoke 
cemetery Mr. Lane was born in Randolph County the son of the late Walter T and 
Frances Robertson Lane. He was a retired wholesale grocer a former Randolph 
County tax collector and a member of Roanoke United Methodist Church. Survivors 
include three sons Dr. Ferrel Lane and James Lane both of Roanoke and Dr. Hugh 
Lane Opelika Ala., four brothers Blake Lane Shawmut Ala., Jim Lane Rock Mills, 
Ala and Pat and Clyde Lane both of Lanett Ala 10 grandchildren and one 
greatgrandchild.
