Roanoke Leader
Wilmer D. Lashley died Wednesday night on his way to the hospital for an 
appendectomy. He was 19 years old. Funeral services were conducted at New Hope 
West Baptist church at eleven o'clock Friday by Rev. Warner Welborn, with 
Quattlebaum directing, and burial was in the New Hope cemetery. Wilmer is 
survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Lashley, two sisters Mary and 
Margaret, and two brothers, Hulan and Charles, all of Wadley, Rt. 1.
