Roanoke Leader
Jake D. Lashley of Wadley Rt. 1, age 71, passed away at his home Thursday, June 
1, at 12 noon. Mr. Lashley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances Lashley; 1 son, 
Charles Lashley of Shreveport, La.; 2 daughters, Mrs. Clifford Brown of Wedowee 
Rt. 3 and Mrs. Barney Yarbrough of Layton, Okla. 9 grandchildren; 1 brother, Whit 
Lashley of Atlanta; and 1 sister, Mrs. Lera Cosper of Wedowee Rt 3. Funeral 
services for Mr. Lashley were conducted at 11:30 Saturday morning from the New 
Hope West Baptist Church by Rev. Wallace Reaves. Burial was in the church 
cemetery, Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangement
