Roanoke Leader
On last Wednesday afternoon Grandmother Lewis passed to her reward, after short 
illness of pneumonia. The deceased was 78 years old. Her husband, Mr. John Lewis 
preceded her across the river several years ago. She is survived by one son, Mr. 
Jim Lewis, and one sister, Miss Verge Patterson. She had been a member of the 
Methodist church for many years, Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 
Prospect, near Texas, Ga., Rev. J. T. Yarbrough being in charge.
