Lindsey (LINEVILLE) Funeral services for Lela H. Lindsey, age 85, of Rt. 2 Lineville were Sunday, Jan. 3, 1988, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Linville with the Rev. Terry Reid officiating. Burial was in Clay County Memory Gardens. Mrs. Lindsey died Friday, Jan. 1, at her residence. She was a native of Cleburne County but had lived for the past 37 years in Linville. She was a housewife; formerly employed by Higgins Co.; a member of First United Methodist Church of Lineville, a member of UMW Day Circle and the Winnie Huckaby Sunday School Class. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Sue Matthews of Birmingham, Mrs. Mildred Grizzard of Reeltown, Mrs. Gail Ford of Lineville and Mrs. Christi Hendrix of Alabaster; two sons, Wallace Lindsey of Oxford and Wendell Lindsey of Lineville; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Lipham of Ranburne and Mrs. Vera Smith of LaGrange, Ga.; one brother, Blake Hanson of Graham; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Everett Lindsey, Larry Lindsey, Jerry Lindsey, Jimmy Lindsey, Ed Matthews, Ben Matthews, Mark Grizzard, Wayne Ford, Russ Whitman and Scott Harper.
