Services for Mrs. Nellie Cofield Lipham, 87, of Wedowee will be Wednesday at 11 
a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Wedowee with the Rev. Kenneth Fuller 
officiating. Burial will be in the Wedowee Masonic Cemetery with Benefield 
Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. The family will receive friends 3-7 tonight 
at the funeral home. Mrs. Lipham died Sunday at Aliceville Nursing Home. 
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Virie Owens of Aliceville and Mrs. Runette 
Scherer of New Orleans; a sister, Mrs. Dollie Reaves of Anniston; a brother, 
R.C. Cofield of Wedowee; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 
Pallbearers will be Wayne Cofield, Cecil Cofield, Talmon Cofield, Dalton 
Cofield, Frank Cofield, Loveless Cofield, Larry Bradley and Lavelle Lipham. Mrs. 
Lipham was a Randolph County native and a member of the First Baptist Church of 
Wedowee for the past 50 years. She was a member of the American Legion 
Auxiliary, the Garden Club, the WMU, the Extension Homemakers Club and a retired 
lunchroom manager of Randolph County High School.
