Services for Wilburn Barney Lipham 90, of Wedowee were Saturday at the First 
Baptist Church of Wedowee with the Rev. Kenneth Fuller. Mr. Lipham died Thursday 
at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mellie C. Lipham; two 
daughters, Mrs. Virie L. Owens of Aliceville and Mrs. Runette S. Scherer of New 
Orleans: a sister. Miss Rosa Lipham of Wedowee: two brothers. Ray Lipham of 
Oxford and John Lipham of Birmingham; six grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Larry Bradley, Bailey Channell, Ray Cofield. 
Lavelle Lipham. W.F. Lipham and Jack Lipham. Mr. Lipham was a lifelong resident 
of Randolph County. He was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of 
Wedowee. He was retired teacher, a World War I veteran, an Auburn alumnus, and a 
member of the American Legion, the Wedowee Kiwanis Club, Delta Phi Honor Society 
and Sawyer Lodge No. 93 of Wedowee.
