The wife of former state senator Ted Little, Mrs. Little was active in church, civic and political affairs. She was a member of the Alabama State Council on the Arts during the administrations of both Governors George Wallace and Fob James. She was honored by the council in 1987 when she was named recipient of its Award of Excellence, a special award presented to individuals who have a record of lifetime achievement in the arts and whose works have had a major impact on Alabama culture. A native of Andalusia, she attended Judson College, received her master's degree from West Virginia University and her PhD. degree from the University of Alabama, and did additional study at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. During her professional career she served as assistant professor of counselor education at Auburn University, executive secretary of the Judson College Alumni Association, editor of the alumni publication for the University of Alabama, and assistant professor of music at Berry College. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Auburn and also in work for neglected and dependent children and the Mental Health Association in Lee County. Always involved in her husband's political campaigns, Mrs. Little was a successful candidate herself when in 1980 she was elected delegate for the Third Congressional District to the National Democratic Convention in New York. Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, at Auburn First Baptist Church, with Dr. John Jeffers, pastor emeritus, and Dr. Glenn Turner, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery in Andalusia at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4. Survivors in additional to her husband include two daughters, Mollie Dora Little and Terre Su Little, both of Auburn, and two sisters, Inez Riley Moss of Atlanta and Peggy Riley Graves of Andalusia.
