Mrs. Essie M. Lovvorn, 77, of Newell died Thursday at Wedowee Hospital. Services 
will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Marvin Horsley and 
the Rev. Grove Cofield officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery 
with Benefield Funeral Home in charge. Survivors include her husband Iverson 
Lovvorn; two daughters, Mrs. H. E. Coe of Wedowee, and Miss Alice Lovvorn of 
Tampa, Fla.; six brothers Sylvan Traylor of Delta, Robert Traylor and Hubert 
Traylor, both of Wedowee, D. C. Traylor of Zanesville, Ohio, Byrd Traylor of 
Heflin, and Leo Traylor of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. A. F. Grant of 
Wedowee, and three grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Fred Lovvorn, James Kirby, 
Billy Toney, Hubert Coe Jr., John Coe and Tim Coe. Mrs. Lovvorn was a native and 
lifelong resident of Randolph County, a member of Pine Hill Christian Church and
Postmaster of Newell 27 years.
