M. HARDY, who died in Roanoke 45 years ago. His body had rested in the old cemetery near the Baptist church, now not in use, and it was the desire of his family to transfer his remains to the family lot in the public cemetery, which was successfully done. Some of the older residents of the town recall that Mr. HARDY died of typhoid fever in 1881, when several other members of well known families were victims of the same dread disease. He was about 35 years of age. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 8 Dec 1926] ------- Louis M. HARDY, 1847--1881, Lucy C.
