MARSHALL DIED AT BROUGHTON FRIDAY [Ada Sophronia Mobley Marshall] Broughton, April 10 - About 2 o'clock last Friday afternoon death came to our community and called a good mother and grandmother into a larger and better life. She was 71 years old and was the widow of the late Mr. John C. Marshall, who preceded her in death seven years. Mrs. Marshall had spent a good many years of her life in our community where her kind words and sweet smile shed a radiance over those about her. She had been sick only a short time. She is survived by nine children: Dr. W. L. Marshall, Langdale; F. P. Marshall, Tampa, Florida; W. R. and J. H. Marshall, Washington, D C; Mrs. C. W. Foster, [M. K. Marshall], C. G. Marshall, Mrs. J. L. Hodges and Miss Lois Marshall, Roanoke. All were present except F. P. Marshall. Eight grandchildren also survive. Loving friends and relatives bore the body at 2 P.M. Sunday to Concord, the church she loved, where she was laid to rest amidst beautiful flowers, so typical of her pure, sweet life. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. D. Dollar and Miss Sallie Poore. Her sons and sons-in-law served as pall bearers. __________ Additional Comments: [Ada, b.
