Roanoke Leader
John Daniel McCain, age 86, Newell Rt. 1, passed away at the home of his 
daughter, Mrs. Nellie Ruth Holloway, on Sunday evening, Nov. 1, at 7:20. Mrs. 
McCain is survived by three sons, Kermit and Floyd McCain Newell and Charlie Will 
McCain of LaGrange; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Ruth Holloway and Mrs. Gladys 
Nelson of Newell, one brother Wyatt McCain of Wedowee; one sister, Mrs. Sulie 
Traylor Newell; and 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren Funeral services 
for Mr. McCain were conducted Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Levins 
Chapel Church by Rev. Gordon Taylor. Interment was in the church cemetery, 
Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements.
