Roanoke Leader
After an illness of several weeks, death came Sunday afternoon to Mr. John L. 
McCarley at his home. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Reese Layton, be held at 
Providence church this afternoon. Mr. McCarley spend his life in this community 
was a faithful member of Zion Baptist church. Surviving members of the family are 
the widow, two sons Leonard of Cleveland Ohio, Hubert of San Antiono, Texas, four 
daughters Mrs. Tom Landers of Roanoke, Mrs. Mearl Yates, of Wedowee, Mrs. George 
Hester and Miss Mildred McCarley of Woodland.
