Funeral services will be held today, Friday, at 2:00 at the New Friendship church, Gober Funeral home directing. Mrs. McClung was born in Randolph County 6 years before the Civil War. She and her husband didn't have any children. They moved to Union Grove about 35 years ago. He lived until he was 90. Mrs. McClung was nearly blind and walked on crutches since a fall about 30 years ago. But in spite of these handicaps, she was in good spirits and good health until her last sickness. She wore a bonnet all the time to cover her white hair. She never could understand why women ever want to bleach their hair white. In her last years, her greatest pleasure came from her snuff. Without it she would have been about lost. Ministers will be the Rev. James Kelley, the Rev. L. F. Campbell and the Rev. Leroy Carroll. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. McClung joined the Congregational Methodist Church in early girlhood. She and her husband were married over 60 years. He died in 1937. Additional Comments: Daughter of Henry McElroy & Catherine Nix.
