Ashland Progress
Mr. Garfield McCollum passed away at his home on July 30th at the age of 64. Mr. 
McCollum had suffered a stroke of paralysis more than a year ago and had been in 
declining health since that time. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons 
and five daughters. All were present for the funeral except one son, who is 
overseas. The service was held at Christiana on July 31st, conducted by Rev. J. 
P. Bean, assisted by Rev. W. L. Reeves. Interment was in the Christiana cemetery. 
Blair directing. Pallbearers were Henry McCollum, Jesse McCollum, Hubert 
McCollum, Russell Graben, Shell Whaley, Dean Freeman.
