The Atlanta Constitution
The funeral for Ms. Janie R. McCowan, 28, of Atlanta will be at 2 p.m. CST 
Thursday at Mount Olive United Methodist Church here with burial at the 
churchyard. Ms. McCowan, an employee of Howard Johnson's in Atlanta, died 
Saturday in an automobile wreck here. She was a member of Mount Olive United 
Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Miss Robert L. McCowan of Roanoke, 
Ala., and John H. McCowan of Waterloo, Iowa; and sisters, Mrs. Mary J, Burdett of 
Roanoke, Mrs. Jessie L. Kelley of Wadley, Mrs. Laura D. Smith of Toledo, Ohio, 
and Mrs. Effie J. Staples, Miss Betty McCowan and Miss Sheryl McCowan, all of 
Atlanta.
