Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Leila Maude Meacham of Roanoke passed away, at the age of 78, in a local 
hospital Tuesday, June 13, at 5:15 a. m. She was the widow of the late Rev. W. 
T. Meacham. Mrs. Meacham Is survived by three sons, Olin of Roanoke, Curtis of 
Sumerville, Ga., and Howard of Talladega; three daughters, Mrs. J. T. Landers 
and Mrs. Grady Bailey of Roanoke and Mrs. Edgar Adamson of Glenn, Ga.; 21 
grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Wesley Johnson of 
Atlanta and Clifford Johnson of Hapeville, Ga.; and one sister, Mrs. R. R. 
Manley of Atlanta. Funeral services for Mrs. Meacham were conducted at 3 o'clock 
this Wednesday afternoon from the Chapel of Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral 
Home by Dr. Austin Staples, Dr. J. A. Gann, and Rev. L. A. Gore. Burial was In 
Cedarwood Cemetery, Quattlebaum's directing.
