Merrill, 70, who died yesterday morning at his home at 10- Norwood Homes after an illness of six months, will be held today at 3 o'clock at Zion Baptist Church in Woodland with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Dr. Edwin Kimbrough and the Rev. D. L. Bynum will officiate, and Usrey Funeral Home will in charge. Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Ethel Merrill; one son, D. L. Merrill: two brothers. Rot C. of Bowden, Ga., and George of LaGrange, GA.; four sisters, Mrs. R. S. Hunt of Lineville. Mrs. J. C. Burroughs of Woodland. Mrs. J. D. Lovvorn of Graham and Mrs. L. R. Cook, Roopville, Ga.; and three grandchildren. Mr. Merrill was a retired educator who had taught for 45 years. He was last employed as principal of Rock Mills Junior High School is Randolph County where he was principal for 25 years. He received his education at Jacksonville State College and was a member of Wedowee Baptist Church.
