OBITUARIES:

Mrs. Cassie Ware Messer

   Mrs. Cassie Ware Messer, age 80, of Route 1 Wedowee died Saturday, Oct. 23, 
1982 at Wedowee Hospital after a short illness.
   Mrs. Messer was a lifelong, resident of Randolph County, a school teacher, a 
homemaker, and a member of the Ava United Methodist Church. 
Mrs. Messer is survived by four stepdaughters, Mrs. Edith Williamson of Tyus, 
Ga., Mrs. Mildred McManus, Mrs. Ruby Sears, and Mrs. Carolyn Crenshaw, all of 
Woodland; three stepsons, T.M. Messer and Henderson Messer both of Woodland, 
and Olin Messer of Wedowee; four sisters, Mrs. Una Lee Martin of Gadsden, Mrs. 
Bovene Mallory of LaGrange, Mrs. Edith Hardman of Wedowee, and Mrs. Reba 
Chesser of Gadsden; five brothers, Clenis Ware of Wedowee, Rufus Ware of 
Gadsden, Gus Ware of Florida, George Ware of Turlock, California and Opal Ware 
of Orlando, Fla.; a host of step-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
   Funeral services for Mrs. Messer were held Monday, Oct. 25 at Ava United 
Methodist Church with the Rev. Lavelle Reynolds, the Rev. Wayne Blankenship, 
and the Rev. Paul Messer officiating.  Burial followed at Big Springs Baptist 
Church.
   Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee was in charge of arrangements.
