Funeral services for Mrs. Malinda Vastie Messer, 66, of Wedowee, Rt. 1, who died 
Monday in the Wedowee Hospital, were held Wednesday at Ava Methodist Church with 
burial in the church cemetery, Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral Home in 
charge. She is survived by her husband, J. W. Messer; six sons, Osmond, Orlando, 
Fla., Mi1ford, Woodland, Henderson, Wyndell and Olin, Wedowee, Junior, Roanoke; 
four daughters, Mrs. Edith Williamson, Bowdon, Ga., Mrs. Mildred McManus, Mrs. 
Ruby Sears and Mrs. Carolyn Crenshaw, Woodland; 28 grandchildren and eight great-
grandchildren.
