Bert Mitchell

   (WEDOWEE) Graveside services for Bert Mitchell, 94, of Wedowee will be 
Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002, at 4 p.m. at Auslin Chapel Church Cemetery, with the 
Rev. Cloyse Johnson officiating.
   Mr. Mitchell died Monday, Sept. 16, at Wedowee Hospital.
   A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Mitchell was born March 28, 1908.  
He was a member of Wedowee Sawyer Masonic Lodge #93, a member of Auslin Chapel 
Church, and had worked in maintenance with the Randolph County Board of 
Education and also worked as a tree farmer.  
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by a grandson, Benny S. Mitchell.
   Survivors include his wife, Jean Edmondson Mitchell; four daughters, Joanne 
Bolt of Chattanooga, Emily Whaley of Alexandria, Dorothy Huddleston of Wedowee 
and Lynda Fincher of Woodland; two sons, Barto G. Mitchell of Wedowee and Brad 
B. Mitchell of Anniston; one step-daughter, Robin Vickery; 11 grandchildren, 
nine great-grandchildren and one step-grandchild.
   Pallbearers will be Wayne Whaley, Jodie Whaley, Bradley Mitchell, Frank Bolt, 
Chip Fincher and Toby Fincher.  Honorary pallbearers will be Rayford Edmondson, 
Barry Mitchell and Kenneth Mitchell.
   The family will accept flowers or request donations be made to the Wedowee 
Masonic Lodge.
   Arrangements are by Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee.
