OBITUARIES:

B. J. MITCHUM

   (Roanoke)  B. J., age 74, of 601 Louina St., Roanoke, died Monday, Dec. 14, 
1981, in Randolph County Hospital, Roanoke.
   Mr. Mitchum is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Connie Workman of Roanoke; 
five sons, Benny and Tommy Mitchum both of Roanoke, Bobby Mitchum of Ft. Worth, 
Tex., and Donnie and Kerry Mitchum, both of Mobile; 12 grandchildren and one 
great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Irma Borders of Roanoke; and three brothers, 
Jim Mitchum of Savannah, Ga., and Raymond and Lee Mitchum, both of Roanoke.
   Funeral services for Mr. Mitchum will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 17, at 11 
a.m. from Roanoke First Baptist Church, the Rev. Donald Paulson officiating, 
with burial in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke.
   Grandsons will be pallbearers.
   Quattlebaum's Brown-Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

[Benjamin Jackson, b. Aug 25, 1907, is the son of Wm. Henry Mitchum and Gillie 
Maude Jackson; He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Catherine Swann 
Mitchum, in 1968.]
