(Savannah, Ga.) Funeral services for James Henry Mitchum, Sr., age 83, of Savannah, Ga., formerly of Roanoke, Ala., were set for Wednesday, June 28, 1989, at 11 a.m. from First Baptist Church of Roanoke with the Rev. David Howard officiating. Interment was in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke. Mr. Mitchum died Sunday, June 25, at his home in Savannah. He was a native of Roanoke but had lived the past 45 years in Savannah. He was a brick mason by occupation and a member of First Baptist Church in Roanoke. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Avis Mitchum of Savannah; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Moore of Roanoke; three sons, James H. Mitchum, Jr. of Savannah, John T. Mitchum of Chatsworth, Ga., and William J. Mitchum of Doraville, Ga.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Irma Borders of Roanoke; two brothers, Raymond Mitchum and Lee Mitchum, both of Roanoke; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Lon Mitchum, Jr., Oliver Mitchum, Jerry Mitchum, Tommie Mitchum, Kirby Windsor and Alan Workman.
