OBITUARIES:

JOHN C. MITCHUM, SR.

   (Roanoke)  Mr. John C. Mitchum, Sr., age 74, Roanoke, passed away at his 
home Friday, October 15.
   Mr. Mitchum is survived by his wife, Mrs Bell Mitchum; two sons. John Jr. 
and William Mitchum of Roanoke; two daughters, Mrs. Sara Earl of Lanett and 
Mrs. Edna Allen of Wadley; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and 
one brother, Will Mitchum of Roanoke.
   Funeral Services for Mr. Mitchum were conducted Sunday afternoon at one 
o'clock from Quattlebaum's Funeral Chapel by the Revs. Hugh Barber, Jim 
Bassham, and Larry Armstrong, with burial in Cedarwood cemetery.
   Quattlebaum's Brown-Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
