Mitchum (Roanoke, Rt. 1) William H. Mitchum, age 92, of Rt. 1, Roanoke, died in the Randolph County Hospital on Sunday, April 6, 1975 . Mr. Will was a pioneer member of a family of builders who have left their mark upon the community and surrounding area. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Mitchum; four sons, Jim Mitchum of Savannah, Ga., and B. J., Raymond and Lee Mitchum of Roanoke; one stepson, J. B. Atkins of Birmingham; one daughter, Mrs. Irma Borders of Roanoke; three step- daughters, Mrs. Elton Carson of West Point, Ga., and Mrs. Charles Gibson and Mrs. Horace Townley of Roanoke; and 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Mitchum were conducted Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock from the First Baptist Church, the Rev Larry Armstrong officiating, with burial in Cedarwood Cemetery.
