Services for Dewey S. Mize, 65, of Wedowee, Rt. 1, were today at Union Hill 
Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Leron Murphy officiating. Burial 
was in the church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. Mr. 
Mize died Tuesday at his residence. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. 
Shelby J. Ward and Mrs. Rhonda C. Pate, both of Wedowee. Mrs. Brenda E. Humphrey 
of Lynn Haven, Fla., and Mrs. Julia M. Billot of Gulfport, Miss.; two sons, 
Elliott A. Mize of Conoway, S.C., and Ellis T. Mize of California; his mother, 
Mrs. Mattie L. Mize of Wedowee, 16 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. 
Pallbearers were grandsons. Mr. Mize was a lifelong Randolph County resident, a 
farmer and truck driver and a World War II veteran. He was a member of Union 
Hill Congregational Methodist Church.
