Final Rites Today For John R. Moore,
Who Died Sunday

   Funeral services for John Richard Moore, 49, who died at his residence on 
Jefferson street yesterday at 8:30am after a lingering illness, were held this 
afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Providence Baptist Church near Woodland, Ala. 
with the Rev. W.H. Caldwell officiating. Burial followed at the Providence 
cemetery.
   The deceased, who had lived here for three years, was born in Randolph 
County, Alabama. He followed the occupation of farmer and was a member of the 
Providence Baptist Church.
   Serving as pallbearers were Gladstone Beddingfield, Buddy Beddingfield, 
Woodrow Thompson, Arnall Green, Curtis Kirby and James Kirby.
   Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Fannie Beddingfield Moore, one daughter, 
Mrs. Brenice Smith of LaGrange, two sons, Rudolph and Roy Moore of LaGrange, 
six sisters, Mrs. Emma Thompson of Woodland, Ala., Mrs. Lou Brown of Woodland, 
Ala., Mrs. Julia Yarbrough of Wedowee, Ala., Mrs. Sallie Wilson of Roanoke, 
Ala., Mrs. Ola Davis of LaGrange, Mrs. Arrie Strain of LaGrange, one brother, 
W.A. Moore of Woodland, Ala.
   Watson W. and Groover were in charge of arrangements.

Richard John Moore was born November 22, 1896 in Randolph county, Alabama and 
died May 19, 1946 in LaGrange, Troup county, Georgia. Richard J. Moore married 
Fannie L. Beddingfield. Richard J. Moore and Fannie L. Beddingfield Moore are 
buried in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Lamar, Randolph county, 
Alabama.

Georgia to Hamilton K. Moore and L. Catherine Huddleston Moore and he died 
March 10, 1938 in Randolph county, Alabama. William H. Moore is buried in 
Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Lamar, Randolph county, Alabama. 

Mary Catherine Brown was born November 17, 1858 in most likely Heard county, 
Georgia to Ben Brown and a Crump woman and she died February 14, 1931 in 
Randolph county, Alabama. Mary Catherine Brown is buried in Providence Baptist 
Church Cemetery, Lamar, Randolph county, Alabama.

Nancy Emma Moore was born January 25, 1878 in Randolph county, Alabama and 
died April 2, 1959 in Randolph county, Alabama. Nancy E. Moore married Charles 
Matthew Thompson on December 8, 1901. Nancy Emma Moore Thompson and Charles 
Matthew Thompson are buried in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Lamar, 
Randolph county, Alabama.

Mary Louisa ‘Lue’ Moore was born January 4, 1884 in Randolph county, Alabama 
and died June 1962 in Randolph county, Alabama. Mary L. Moore married 
Samuel ‘Sam’ Elic Brown on April 8, 1900. Mary L. ‘Lue’ Moore Brown and Samuel 
E. Brown are buried in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Lamar, Randolph 
county, Alabama. 

Julia Savannah Moore was born January 27, 1886 in Randolph county, Alabama and 
died April 19, 1957 in Randolph county, Alabama. Julia Savannah Moore married 
Thomas ‘Tom’ Washington Yarbrough on August 21, 1904. Julia S. Moore Yarbrough 
and Thomas W. Yarbrough are buried in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, 
Lamar, Randolph county, Alabama.

William H. Moore was born October 28, 1888 in Randolph county, Alabama and 
died April 4, 1915 in Randolph county, Alabama. William H. Moore married Ella 
Elizabeth Haynes on August 9, 1906. William H. Moore is buried in the West 
Napoleon Church of Christ, Napoleon, Randolph county, Alabama. Ella E. Haynes 
Moore is buried in the Friendship Christian Church Cemetery, Randolph county, 
Alabama. William H. Moore was killed by his brother in law, Thomas ‘Tom’ 
Washington Yarbrough.

Sarah ‘Sallie’ Elizabeth Moore was born April 15, 1890 in Randolph county, 
Alabama and died December 29, 1974 in Birmingham, Jefferson county, Alabama. 
Sarah E. Moore married Walter Winfield Wilson on December 2, 1906. Sarah E. 
Moore Wilson and Walter W. Wilson are buried in the West Napoleon Church of 
Christ, Napoleon, Randolph county, Alabama.   

Eliza Ola Moore was born March 30, 1892 in Randolph county, Alabama and died 
January 17, 1988 in Roanoke, Randolph county, Alabama. Eliza Ola Moore married 
Samuel ‘Sam’ Jesse Davis on December 9, 1916. Eliza Ola Moore Davis and 
Samuel ’Sam’ Jesse Davis are buried in Center Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 
Roanoke, Randolph county, Alabama.

Joseph James Moore was born June 15, 1894 in Randolph county, Alabama and died 
June 5, 1918 in Randolph county, Alabama. Joseph J. Moore is buried in the 
Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Lamar, Randolph county, Alabama.

Walter Alsie Moore was born March 29, 1899 in Randolph county, Alabama and 
died August 21, 1964 in Heard county, Georgia. Walter A. Moore married Annie 
M. Daniel on December 26, 1920. Walter A. Moore and Annie M. Daniel Moore are 
buried in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Lamar, Randolph county, 
Alabama. 

Arrie Alice Moore was born January 31, 1903 in Randolph county, Alabama and 
died May 3, 1986 in LaGrange, Troup county, Georgia.  Arrie Alice Moore 
married William Hershel Strain. Arrie A. Moore Strain and William H. Strain 
are buried in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery, LaGrange, Troup county, 
Georgia.
