WEAVER DIED SATURDAY ---------------------------- The [telegraph] wires brought the sad news to Roanoke Saturday [11 Sep 1909] that Mrs. A. L. WEAVER had passed away at her mother’s home at Waverly Hall, [Harris Co.] Ga. This was no surprise to those who knew her condition, but it was nevertheless a sad announcement. Mr. and Mrs. WEAVER came to Roanoke over a year ago and won many friends among our people. Mrs. WEAVER was a bright, sweet lady. But months ago a fatal malady laid cruel hands upon her. In spite of all that could be done, she gradually grew worse, and was finally moved from Roanoke to her mother’s home, where the end came. Mr. WEAVER spent what time he could spare from his business with the sick wife, and was present when her dissolution came. He has the sympathy of all our people.
