Ed. TOILER: I regret to announce the death of Mrs. Martha SHELNUTT, which took place on the 18th of this month, after a lingering illness of thirteen long months. She was born Sept. 23rd, 1841. She leaves an aged husband, two sons and five daughters; also, 18 living grandchildren. Her mother, four sisters and one brother also survive her. Her brother stayed with us last night, and was greatly troubled, though we trust all will turn out for the best. Mr. SHELNUTT, husband of the deceased, is left in a very desolate condition, and is so embarrassed as to need the assistance of his friends and relatives at once, which we hope will be extended to him. A Neighbor. [From The Randolph Toiler (Wedowee, Randolph County, Alabama), 28 Nov 1895, p.3] ---------- A search of Randolph County cemetery transcripts revealed no marked grave for Martha SHELNUTT.
