She had been desperately ill for more than a week, and every effort was made to save her precious life, so full of loving deeds and bright with promise. But the end was inevitable, so far as this world is concerned, and the little sufferer went home to the Heavenly Father. She was the eldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Sam C. FAUSETT, and although only eleven years of age, she had impressed herself in an unusual way upon those in the home, upon her teachers and associates. She was dutiful and studious, obedient and trustful. The influence of her short but devoted life has not ended. Seldom has an affliction aroused so much genuine sympathy as was shown the bereaved family in this case, and in so many ways. The offerings in flowers were sufficient to fill a vehicle. The Baptist church was filled at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon with relatives and sympathetic friends. The services were very touching. Rev. E. M. GLENN assisted the pastor, Dr. [J. W.] RUCKER, who had charge and who delivered the discourse. At the close interment was made in Cedarwood cemetery. ---------------------------- A CARD ---------------------------- In the darkness of the great sorrow that has come upon us in the death of our little daughter, Mary, our friends, neighbors and physicians have been most kind. The eternal sunshine of love has shone brightly through our cloud by reason of your tenderness toward us and the memory of such sweet ministrations will forever hallow the thought of each of you. We cannot fitly express our gratitude—we can only pray, “God bless you.” Mr. and Mrs. Sam FAUSETT [Both from The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 16 June 1915, p.1] ---------------------------- LOCAL COMMENT ---------------------------- Mr. and Mrs. J.
