SLEDGE PASSES TO REST ---------------------------- Last Sunday afternoon Mrs. Shirley N. SLEDGE passed away at her home one mile south of town. She had been in poor health more than a year, being confined to her room for many weeks. The remains were interred at 10 o’clock Tuesday [1 June 1915], in the presence of a large company, after appropriate services conducted by Revs. W. R. KNIGHT, E. M. CARTER and J. D. DOLLAR. Mrs. SLEDGE was 75 years of age the 15th of last March. In that month 51 years ago she was married to Mr. S. N. SLEDGE, who, with five children, survive. Mr. and Mrs. SLEDGE had resided at the present homestead 33 years. These good people had a shining record of marital happiness. Both have always been esteemed and honored by all who knew them. Mrs. SLEDGE served well her day and generation. Surely her rest will be sweet till the resurrection morn. ---------------------------- Untitled Local Short ---------------------------- Mr. and Mrs. C. R. MOON, of Livingston, Mrs. K. L. CLEGG, of Almond, T. H. SLEDGE, of Shawmutt [sic], and Mrs. Sallie HOGG, of West Point [Ga.], were called to Roanoke by the sickness and death of Mrs. S. N. SLEDGE. SLEDGE, 18 Aug 1839--19 May 1918, her husband, T. H. SLEDGE, 27 March 1865—28 October 1920, probably their son, Infant Daughter of Calvin & Susie [SLEDGE?] MOON, born/died 26 January 1903, buried next to Mr. and Mrs. S. N. SLEDGE, probably their granddaughter, All interred in Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery, Randolph Co., Alabama. Mrs. K. L. CLEGG and Mrs. Sallie HOGG are probably children of Mr. and Mrs. S. N. SLEDGE. S. N. SLEDGE was a member of Company K, 22nd Alabama Infantry Regiment, CSA
