The good lady lingered till Saturday night, when she peacefully passed into rest, leaving words of resignation and a long and useful life as blessings upon the sad hearts of those whom her death bereaves. It was not the writer’s privilege to know this saintly mother in Israel, but judging her by the noble sons she leaves the world, we could not doubt the strength and piety of her life. We are told by those who knew her that she was one of the best of mothers and was for 58 years a member of the Baptist church. She was nearly 78 years of age, and only two and a half months before was preceded to the better world by her husband, Mr J J AWBREY, Sr. The deceased leaves three sons, Messrs T M, A M and J J AWBREY, Jr, besides three married daughters. The funeral occurred Monday morning at New Hope [Baptist] church in Heard county [GA].
