REEVES AT RADNEY’S CHAPEL 23RD ---------------------------- Last Tuesday night, November 23, Mrs. F. M. REEVES passed away. She had been in bad health for several months, and death came as a relief from her sufferings. She was laid to rest at Concord Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock beside her husband, who preceded her across the river about three years ago. Brother WEST, of Wadley, conducted the funeral services. She is survived by five children: Mrs. [probably Mr.] F. M. REEVES, with whom she had been living for several weeks; Mr. J. W. REEVES, of Roanoke; Mrs. Arrie GEORGE, of Roanoke; Mrs. Henry WORTHY, of Cragford [Clay County, AL], who had always made her home with her mother. The family has the sympathy of the entire [Radney’s Chapel] community in the hour of their bereavement. [From The Roanoke Leader (Randolph County, Alabama), 1 Dec 1926, p.7] ------- In the same news column, it states that "Mr. and Mrs. Shackleford, of Griffin, Ga., visited their aunt, Mrs. F. M. Reeves, Jr.," making it probable that the F. M. REEVES in the marked Corcord cemetery grave is F. M. REEVES, Jr. There are no marked graves for Mr. and Mrs. F. M. REEVES in Corcord Baptist Church cemetery. F. M. REEVES, [Jr.], 7 Oct 1872--9 Aug 1935, probably a son, James W. REEVES, 1882--1939, probably a son, Both interred in Corcord Baptist Church cemetery, Randolph County, Alabama. Radney’s Chapel community is located between Roanoke and Wadley.
