GAY ---------------------------- Last Wednesday [07 Jun 1911] morning Mrs. John G. GAY [Martha SLEDGE GAY, 1872--1911] died suddenly at her home in Cleburne county. She had been in bad health for four months. The remains were brought to Roanoke and interred Thursday evening at High Pine [Baptist Church] cemetery. Mrs. GAY was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. N. SLEDGE. She leaves a husband and eight children. ---------------------------- CARD OF THANKS ---------------------------- We take this method of trying to acknowledge our thanks to the people of Roanoke and community for their many kindnesses shown us while we were on our sad mission, to accompany all that was mortal of our wife and mother to its last resting place in High Pine cemetery.
