Anniston Star
Wallace Ridley Neal, 45-year-old foreman at Southeastern Casting Co., who was 
struck Friday night by an automobile at the Tenth Street viaduct, died of 
injuries yesterday afternoon at o'clock at Anniston Memorial Hospital. Mr. Neal 
reportedly was struck while attempting to flag a police car. He had been in 
critical condition at the hospital for three days. A native of Oxford Mr. Neal 
spent most of his life in Anniston. He had been an employe of various pipe shops 
here since the age of 11. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 
o'clock at the Union Baptist Church, near Morrison's Crossroads on Highway 37. 
The Rev. Lewis P. Bowen will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining 
cemetery. Colonial in charge.  Mr. Neal is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucille 
Neal of Anniston; one daughter. Miss Wanda Neal; five sons, Riley, Larry, Jimmy, 
Wanye and Jackie Neal, all of Anniston; one sister, Mrs. Ressie Graham of 
Weaver; three brothers Robert Neal of Saks, Jack Neal of Anniston and Clint Neal 
of Wedowee; a stepfather Jim Vinson of Anniston; one half-brother, Jabo Vinson 
of Anniston; and three step- brothers, Gurlin, Charles and Tildon Vinson, all of 
Anniston; The body of Mr. Neal will lie in state at the residence, 1823 West 
Tenth Street, until time of Funeral.
