Services for Mrs. Lee Nelson, of Newell were today at 3 p.m. at Levens Baptist 
Church with the Rev. Gordon Taylor and the Rev. James Cohorn officiating. Burial 
was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Nelson died Monday at Pine Knoll Nursing Home. 
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Betty Stewart of Bowdon, Ga., Mrs. Mavis 
McCain of Newell, Mrs. Annie Kerr of Huntsville and Mrs. Bertha Lee McCain of 
Wedowee; five sons, Carl Nelson and Jesse Nelson both of Newell, Hermit Nelson 
of Wedowee, Lonnie Nelson of LaGrange, Ga., J. D. Nelson of Rock Mills; 30 
grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers 
were David Stewart, Mike McCain, Randy Nelson, Bill Nelson, Rudolph Nelson, 
Junior McCain and Jerry Nelson. Mrs. Nelson was a lifelong resident of Randolph 
County. She was a homemaker and a member of Cavers Grove Congregational 
Christian Church.
