Anniston Star
Services for William D. Nelson, 47, of Oxford, Rt. 7, will be Wednesday at 11 
a.m. at Miller Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Wayne Whitmire officiating. 
Burial will be in Levens Baptist Church Cemetery, Randolph County. The family 
will receive visitors from 6-9 tonight at the funeral home. Mr. Nelson died 
Monday at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. 
Freddie Nelson, Oxford; a son, Robert Nelson, Oxford; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. 
L.H. Nelson, Woodland; three sisters, Mrs. Maudine Foster and Mrs. Ann Whaley, 
both of Woodland, and Mrs. Peggy Lombardo, Huntsville, and a brother, Rudy 
Nelson of Childersburg. Mr. Nelson was a native of Randolph County and a 
resident of Oxford for 21 years. He was a veteran and was employed at Anniston 
Army Depot. He was a Baptist.
