Joe Bob Traylor officiating. Burial will be in Levens Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Nelson died Friday at East Alabama Regional Medical Center in Opelika. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eula Maude Nelson of Wedowee; three daughters, Mrs. Annie Lee Whaley and Mrs. Maudine Foster, both of Woodland and Mrs. Peggy Lombardo of Huntsville; a son, Rudolph Nelson of Childersburg; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Lee McCain of Wedowee, Mrs. Mavis McCain of Newell, Mrs. Betty Stewart of Bowdon, Ga. and Mrs. Ann Kerr of Huntsville; four brothers, Jesse Nelson and Carl Nelson, both of Newell; Lonnie Ray Nelson of LaGrange, Ga., and J.D. Nelson of Rock Mills; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be the grandsons. Mr. Nelson was a Randolph County native and owner of Nelson's Grocery for 16 years. He was a school bus driver and mechanic for the Randolph County School System. He was a forest ranger, a U.S. Navy veteran and a member of Caver's Grove Congregational Christian Church.
