New, 75, of Wedowee, Rt. died Saturday in Lineville Nursing Home after a long illness. Funeral services will be today at 2 p.m. in the Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church with the Rev. Leron Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Survivors include her husband, J. J. New of Wedowee; five sons, O'Neal and Leford W. New, both of Oxford. Doyle G. New of Anniston, John A. New of Dearborn, Mich., Lloyd New of Wedowee; five daughters, Mrs. Mavis Williams, Mrs. Pauline Burks, Mrs. Ann N. Vaughan, all of Anniston, Miss Lillie New of Wedowee, and Mrs. Willene Horn of Connersville, Ind.; 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Turner Daniel, Elbert Daniel, both of Anniston, and Harvey Daniel of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Mize of Wedowee and Mrs. Irene Smith of Columbus, Ohio Pallbearers will be Leon Foster, Alfred Craft, John B. Graham, Lincoln Key, Tom Craft and Millard Mize. Mrs. New was a native and life-long resident of Randolph County and a member of the Union Hill Congregational Methodist Church. The body will remain at the residence until one hour prior to services.
