Noles, passed away at her home, Graham, RFD, on Friday night, Sept. 26, at 8:15. On Wednesday of this week, Oct. 1, she would have been 102 years old. She was born in Lee County, Alabama, on Oct. 1, 1845, and had made her home in Randolph County, at the place of her death, for 75 years. Even this year, she was able to do housework and to hoe in her garden. The accompanying picture, taken this year by the Alabama Power Co., which claimed Mrs. Noles as one of its oldest customers, shows her enjoying her electric churn after her sons had wired the home place. Mrs. Noles is survived by four sons: S. B., S. T., L. W., and T. D., all of Graham, RFD; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Herren's Grove at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Herman Caldwell and Rev. Pat Johnson officiating. Interment was in the churchyard cemetery, Quattlebaum's Funeral Home in charge.
