Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Nancy Ann Norred, age 97, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Lon 
Nelson of Newell Rt. 1 at 11:53 p. m. Monday, Nov. 14. Mrs. Norred is survived 
by three sons, Oscar Norred of Newell Rt. 1, J. D. Norred of Wedowee Rt. 1, and 
Norman Norred of Roanoke; two daughters, Mrs. Lon Nelson of Newell Rt. 1 and 
Mrs. Ross Messer of Ft. Lauderdale; 25 grandchildren, 48 greatgrandchildren, and 
27 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Charlie Parker of Booneville, 
Miss., George Parker of Wedowee, and Joe Parker of Woodland; and one sister, 
Mrs. Roy E. Messer of Wedowee. Funeral services for Mrs. Norred were conducted 
at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the Levins Baptist Church by Rev. Gordon 
Taylor and Rev. Billy Howell. Burial was in the church cemetery, Quattlebaum's 
Brown Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
