Services were Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. at Union Chapel United Methodist Church, Wedowee, with the Rev. William Crawford officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mr. Lewis was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Surviving are one son, Curtis Nunn Jr. Wedowee; one daughter, Jearleane Hatcher of Roanoke; two brothers, Coleman Nunn of Wedowee and Leon Nunn of Bowdon, Ga.; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and many other loving relatives and friends. Johnny Williams and the Rev. Ricky Etchison officiating. Burial was in Cedarwood Cemetery. Mrs. Barrett died Saturday, Oct. 30, at Bethany House in Auburn. Survivors include one daughter, Annette Stewart of Lanett; three grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Rachael Smith of Roanoke and Demeris Carter of LaGrange, Ga.; one brother-in-law, Lonnie B. Norred of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Jack Stewart Jr., Duane Brown, Lamar Duffey, Willis Frank Pinkard, Larry James Pinkard, Tommy Pinkard; Barry Owens and David Carter. Mrs. Barrett was born Aug. 12, 1923, daughter of Willis and Lura Henry Pinkard. She was of the Nazarene faith and a former inspector at Palm Beach Co. Carl Linwood Jackson Sr., 70, of LaGrange, Ga., died Friday, Oct. 29, 2004, at West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange. Mr. Jackson was born April 28, 1934, in Thomaston, Ga., son of the late Prentice Lamar and Levie Ellimay Hanson Jackson. He was a retired automotive technician from Fling Ford. He was musically inclined and loved music, cooking and gardening. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Alice Jackson; sons, Carl Linwood Jackson Jr. of LaGrange, Gurald Lamar Jackson of Wadley and Randy Wesley Jackson of LaGrange; two daughters, Belinda Robinson and Lisa Ward of LaGrange; two step-daughters, Jeanette Scott and Melanie Smith of LaGrange; one stepson, Jeff Crouch of LaGrange; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; sisters, Sherlene Stitcher of LaGrange and Judy Jackson Mingo of Bellingham, Wash., and Vickie Jackson Mingo of Las Vegas, Nev.; brother, Charles Jackson of Manchester, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Floyd is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Catherine E. Bussey of Roanoke; one great-grandchild and one great-great-grandchild. Mrs. Floyd will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the funeral. Ms. Davis was born May 27, 1952, in LaGrange, Ga., and later moved to Rock Mills where she was raised. She died Oct. 27 at The Medical Center in Columbus, Ga. She was retired as deputy chancery clerk of Lauderdale County, Miss. Mrs. Grant was a member of the Pilot Club and a volunteer at Riley Hospital for many years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Meridian, where she served on many committees. She is survived by her husband, Joe V. Miss Hancock, born April 29, 1921, in Randolph County, Ala., was the daughter of the late James A. and Leona Huddleston Hancock. She retired from the Dixie Division of West Point Stevens Manufacturing Co. and was a longtime member of Dixie United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Vicie Holsombeck of LaGrange and LaMerle Morris of Springfield, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jewell H. Daniel. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Tish Vaughn of Yatesville, Ga.; stepson, Ken Lee of LaGrange, Ga.; step-grandchildren; a niece and nephew; a sister-in- law; and other relatives and close friends. Robertson of Montgomery; and two brothers, Bobby Robertson of Atlanta and Steven Robertson of Roanoke. Cliff and Etta Bugg Waller. She was a mem­ber of First Baptist Church on the Square, where she was a longtime Sunday school teacher in the 4- and 5-year-old class and a member of the choir. She was active in both the Boy & Girl Scouts of America and was active in West Georgia Medical Center Auxiliary. Her love of gardening led her to join the Crape Myrtle Garden Club. For over 40 years, she and Mark owned and operated Rock Mills Grocery, located in the rock building overlooking the waterfalls of Wehadkee Creek. His life was celebrated with a fellowship meal, followed by a memorial service, on Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Evangel Baptist Church, 204 Old Colliers Way, Weirton, W. Va. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Fincher was born May 28, 1927, daughter of John and Lena Vowell Lawson. She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and had been employed as a sales clerk with Haynie's Drugs. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marion Fincher. Arrangements were by Quattlebaum Funeral Home, Roanoke. __________ Lila McCarley Lovvorn (SYLACAUGA) Services for Lila McCarley Lovvorn, 98, of Sylacauga, formerly of Woodland, will be Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Daniel and the Rev. Keith Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mrs. Lovvorn died Saturday, Nov. 20, at Medical Center East in Birminghma [sic]. The family will receive friends at Zion Baptist Church on Tuesday from 12:30 till 2:30. It is suggested that memorial con­tributions be made to the Zion Baptist Church Building Fund. Mrs. Lovvorn is survived by two daughters, Anita Dark and Pat Bivin of Sylacauga; a son, Nance Lovvorn of Birmingham; two sisters, Gladys Wright and Mary Beth Strain of Woodland; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be David Bivin, Bo Cox, Tyler Cox, Mark, Adam and Gregg Haney, Jeff Parker and Drew Shelnutt. Mrs. Lovvorn was a native of Randolph County, born Jan. 9, 1906, daughter of Albert and Delia Cooper McCarley. She was a graduate of Auburn High School and Jacksonville State University. She and her late husband, Alton Lovvorn, taught together in Randolph and Talladega County schools for over 40 years, teaching many years at Gantts Quarry School before retiring in 1969 from Fayetteville. She lived for most of her retirement years in Woodland near relatives, where she was a member of Zion Baptist Church and active in the Senior Citizens Center. In 2001, she moved to Sylacauga to be near her daughters. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sylacauga at the time of her passing. During her retirement, she enjoyed frequent trips with her husband and continued those with her children after her husband passed away in 1982. She continued to enjoy Auburn football, attending games past the age of 90 and then closely followed them on radio and TV. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eva Rampy, and five brothers, Hoyt, Cooper, Carl, Robert and Landers McCarley. __________ John Neumon White Services for John Neumon White, 91, were Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Bethel West Baptist Church, with the Rev. David Holcombe officiating. Burial was in the adjoining ceme­tery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Mr. White died Thursday, Nov. 18, at Lineville Health and Rehabilitation. Survivors include five daughters, Rebecca Perryman of Boynton Beach, Fla., Sarah Bain of Heflin, Sue Wakefield of Delta, Linda Montgomery of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ruby Bailey of Woodland; three sons, John White and Emmett White of Wedowee, and Bobby W. White of Jacksonville, Ala.,; 23 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Derrell Perrman, Josh Bailey, Johnny Bain, Johnathan Shelnutt, Benjamin White, Daniel White, David White and Jim Wakefield. Honorary pallbearers were James Perryman, Chris Wakefield, Mike White, Mark White and Anthony Bain. Mr. White was born Dec. 18, 1912, son of John Tom and Mary Rebecca Reaves White. He was a member of Bethel West Baptist Church, a deacon for many years, a self-employed dairy farmer, and he trucked produce. Mr. White was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Pearl White, and one grandson, Paul Wakefield. Arrangements were by Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee. __________ Ruby Huddleston Jones (OXFORD) Services for Ruby Huddleston Jones, 64, of Oxford were at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17, 2004, at Miller Funeral Home with pastors Don Mattox and Barry Grizzard officiating. Burial was in Valley Grove Cemetery in Wedowee. Mrs. Jones died Monday, Nov. 14, in Ohatchee. Survivors include three sons, Wayne Shepard and Blake Shepard of Ohatchee and Bennie Shepard of Ashland; three sisters, Billie Moore and Pat Wilson of Anniston and Elizabeth Elder of Coldwater; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers were Nick Mattox, Tyler Mattox, Weston Gray, Bobby Elder, Jeff Huddleston, Keith Elder and Tim Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be residents of Oxford House. Mrs. Jones, a Randolph County native and longtime Calhoun County resident, attended Harvest Church of God. She retired from Bostrom Seating in Piedmont. Mrs. Heard died Tuesday, Nov 16, at her residence. She was a native and life long resident of Randolph County, was a home-maker; had been a member of Mt. Prospect Baptist church most of her life but currently was a member of Landmark Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Francis New of Delta and Sue Kent of Warrenton, Ga.; three sons, Joel Heard of Rex, Ga., Paul Heard of Gainesville, Ga., and Gerald Heard of Lafayette, La.; one sister, Ruby Yates of Lineville; two brothers, Johnny Warren of Lineville and Ray Warren of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Heard, and a brother, George Hendon Warren. Pallbearers were Randy Heard, Mark Heard, Warren Heard, Roy Heard, James Heard and Joshua Heard. A Chambers County native, Mr. Wilburn was born Aug. 16, 1958. He was a member of Union Springs Methodist Church, LaGrange, Ga. Surviving are his wife, Norma Theresa Wilburn of Five Points; three sons, Theron Jerome Wilburn and Nicholas Jamal Wilburn of Five Points and Jerome Wilburn Jr. of LaGrange; his parents, Mary Lou Wilburn of West Point, Ga., and Robert Cotton of Rochester, N.Y.; three sisters, Necola Mann of LaGrange, Joanne Cotton of Milwaukee, Wis., and Charlie Mae Grier of Columbus, Ga.; and two brothers, Sylvester Cotton of LaGrange and Robert Cotton Jr. of Rochester.
