Services will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Valley Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Owen White and the Rev. W. C. Nobley officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Owens of Newell; a brother, Jeffrey Lee Owens of Newell; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Owens of Heflin; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Nelson of Wedowee. Mr. Owens was a lifelong resident of Randolph County, and he was a member of the Church of God. He was a high school student. Two 16-year-old cousins killed here Saturday night in a head-on collision were among at least nine persons killed in weekend traffic accidents in Alabama James Owens 16 of Carrollton Ga and Donald Ray Owens 16 of Newell were killed when the car in which they were riding collided with another on a bridge along US 431 in Wedowee. Wedowee police said the driver and passengers of the other car were not seriously hurt.
