Roanoke Leader
Mrs. Eva May Padgett of Wedowee Rt. 3, age 50, passed away at her home about 10 
o'clock Tuesday morning, May 3. Mrs. Padgett is survived by her husband, Guy 
Padgett; 3 sons, Ernest of Port, Texas, Jack of Langdale, and Howard of Huguley; 
1 daughter, Mrs. Marie McConnell of Huguley; 3 brothers, Grover and James Vinson 
of Roanoke and Charlie Vinson of Wedowee Rt. 3; 4 sisters, Mrs. Mary McCormack of 
Lineville, Mrs. Sevella Broach and Mrs. Ruby Cummings of Cragford, and Mrs. Ertha 
Cummings of Rock Mills; 6 grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Padgett were 
conducted at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon from the New Hope West Church. Burial 
was in the church cemetery, Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral Home directing.
