Wiley J. Pate 70 of Rt 2 Wedowee died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital Columbus. 
Funeral will be 2 pm CDT Thursday at Mount Grove Baptist Church with burial in 
the church cemetery. Mr. Pate was born May 27, 1906, in Randolph County Ala, son 
of Mr. and Mrs. Sol Pate Mr. Pate was a retired farmer and construction worker. 
He had been a member of Mount Grove Baptist and a life-long resident of Randolph 
County Survivors include his wife Pearl, Columbus, daughters Mrs. LaMerle Reese, 
Mrs. Eris Kaster, Mrs. Eva Casteel, Mrs. Ida Waters and Mrs. Myrtice Brockwell 
all of Columbus sons Curtis Pate Roanoke Ala, Sollie R Pate Daytona Beach Fla., 
W J Pate Jr and John (Mert) Pate both of Atlanta, Donald R Pate Columbus, a 
brother Manuel Pate Orlando Fla, a sister Mrs. Lily Poole Wedowee, 24 
grandchildren 6 greatgrandchildren,
