Roanoke Leader
Walter E. Pauley, age 47, Newell Rt. 1, passed away in a Veterans Administration 
hospital Tuesday morning, Sept. 13, at 1:30. Mr. Pauley is survived by his wife 
and one daughter, Miss Betty Joyce Pauley, Newell; his father, Eugene Pauley of 
Newell; one brother, C. B. Pauley of Heflin; three sisters, Mrs. Lovie Williams 
of Palmetto, Ga., Mrs. Frances Lee Mitchell of LaGrange, and Mrs. Annie Wood of 
Wedowee. Funeral services for Mr. Pauley, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 
two o'clock from the Union Church at Morrisons Crossroads, Rev. D. M. Noles 
officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery, with Quattlebaum's Funeral 
Home in charge of funeral arrangements. VFW Post 6571, Wedowee, will render full 
military honors.
