Eugene Lewis Pauley, age 76, passed away at his home on Newell Rt. 1 at 4:40 
Wednesday afternoon, April 8. Mr. Pauley is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cassie Mae 
Pauley; 8 sons, C. B. of Wedowee Rt. 2 and Robert, Herbert, Howard, and Guinn 
Pauley of Newell Rt. 1., 1 stepson, Sherrell White of Newell Rt. 1., 2 daughters, 
Mrs. Lovie Williams of Palmetta, Ga., and Mrs. Annie Wood of Wedowee Rt. 1., 1 
stepdaughter, Mrs. Florence Mitchell of Wedowee Rt. 1; and 20 grandchildren. 
Funeral services for Mr. Pauley were conducted at 12 noon from Union Baptist 
Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Robert Nobley and Rev. C. O. 
Laird officiated, and Quattlebaum-Brown Service Home was in charge of 
arrangements.
