Anniston Star
K. M. Payne, 67, prominent Roanoke merchant and father of Mrs. Forrest French of 
Anniston, died early today at Randolph County Hospital. Funeral services will be 
conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Quattlebaum Funeral Home with burial in a Roanoke 
cemetery. The body is at the funeral home. Survivors, in addition to Mrs. French, 
include the widow Mrs. K. M. Payne of Roanoke; another daughter of Prattville; 
and a son of Dayton, Ohio.
