R. Peaden Services held at Rock Mills Roanoke, Ala., May 14 - Funeral services for Private Jim R. Peaden, 27, son of Ira Peaden of Rock Mills, were held Tuesday afternoon at Rock Mills Methodist Church by the pastor, the Rev. T. A. Edgar. Private Peaden's death at the Walter Reid (sic - s/b Reed) General Hospital in Washington, D. C., occurred last Friday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock and was the result of pneumonia following an operation. He had served with the armed forces since January 1942. In addition to his father Private Peaden is survived by five brother, Jesse, of Rock Mills, Paul, of Roanoke, Odell, of Hogansville, Ga., Claude, of Maxwell Field (now AFB - Montgomery, Ala), and Ira, Jr., of Thomaston, Ga.; and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Dover and Mrs. Louise Nixon, both of Thomaston.
