Roanoke Leader
James Perry of Roanoke Rt. 4 passed away suddenly in LaGrange at 9:30 Monday 
morning, May 6. Mr. Perry is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Perry; 1 daughter, 
Mrs. Rebecca Simpson of Alexandria, Va.; 4 sons, John T. Perry of Opelika, J. B. 
Perry of Auburn, and Cooper and Gary Perry of Roanoke Rt. 4; 8 grandchildren; 3 
brothers, Alva Perry of Lanett, Ellis Perry of Wedowee, and Truman Perry of 
Wadley Rt. 1; and 2 sisters, Mrs. Ruby Benefield of Atlanta and Mrs. Annie 
Benefield of Rock Mills. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday 
afternoon from Midway Methodist Church by Rev. Lennox Mallory and Rev. Hobart 
Murphree. Burial was in the church cemetery. Quattlebaum's Brown Service Funeral 
Home directed.
